Percentage Roll Steer

The percentage rate of change in steer angle with respect to change in vehicle roll angle.

Computed by:

SVCROL

Input Variables Used:

Compliance matrix
Track
Average vertical tire rate

Method:

SVC applies opposing unit forces acting vertically at the tire patches. The height difference between the tire patches is:
Dz = C( 3,3 ) - C( 3,9 ) - C( 9,3 ) + C( 9,9 ) + 2/Kt
where Kt is the tire stiffness.
The vehicle roll angle is the rotation of the line through the tire patches:
Av = Dz / track
The change in steer angle is:
As = [ C( 6,3 ) - C( 6,9 ) + C( 12,3 ) - C( 12,9 ) ] / 2
The roll steer is:
RS = [ As / Av ] * 100
