Steer Angle

The angle between the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the line of intersection of the wheel plane and the road surface. It is the average of the right and left angles. Steer angle is reported in degrees, and is positive if the wheels are steering to the left. Steer angle is only computed for the front suspension.

Computed by:

CONSUB

Input Variables Used:

Wheel center marker identifiers (idwcfl, idwcfr, idwcrl, idwcrr)
Global origin marker identifier (gblm)

Method:

Since the steer angle is the same as the toe angle, except for the sign on the left angle, is is computed as half the difference of right and left toe angles.
average steer angle = ( right toe - left toe ) / 2
