New Full-Vehicle Assembly

(Standard Interface) File New Full-Vehicle Assembly
Creates a new full-vehicle assembly from the specified subsystems. See Assemblies.
 
For the option:
Do the following:
Assembly Name
Enter a name for the assembly.
Front Susp Subsystem
Do one of the following:
To search/browse for a subsystem from the database, right-click the text box next to
To select a subsystem that is open in the current session, select . The icon changes to and the text box is replaced by a pull-down menu from which you can select a subsystem.
Rear Susp Subsystem
Steering Subsystem
Front Wheel Subsystem
Rear Wheel Subsystem
Body Subsystem
Powertrain Subsystem
If you want to include a powertrain subsystem in your assembly, select the toggle to the left of the text box. Then, do one of the following:
To search/browse for a subsystem from the database, right-click the text box next to .
To select a subsystem that is open in the current session, select . The icon changes to and the text box is replaced by a pull-down menu from which you can select a subsystem.
Brake Subsystem
If you want to include a brake subsystem in your assembly, select the toggle to the left of the text box. Then, do one of the following:
To search/browse for a subsystem from the database, right-click the text box next to .
To select a subsystem that is open in the current session, select . The icon changes to and the text box is replaced by a pull-down menu from which you can select a subsystem.
Other Subsystems
If you want to include additional subsystems in your assembly, such as anti-roll bars or road graphics, select the toggle to the left of the text box.
- Right-click the text box and then search/browse for a subsystem from the database.
- Right-click the text box and then select a subsystem open in the current session.
Vehicle Test Rig
From the pull-down menu, select the Test Rig you want to use in your assembly.
Select to display a dialog box where you can add multi-line comments to any entity, to describe its purpose and function. Adams Car displays different comments dialog boxes, depending on the entity type for which you want to record comments:
If recording comments for modeling entities in Standard Interface, Adams Car displays the Entity Comments dialog box.
If recording comments for any other entity type, Adams Car displays the Modify Comment dialog box.

Advanced
Select this toggle to display a "Shift" toggle for each subsystem. This allows you to specify a longitudinal and vertical shift to each subsystem as you create the assembly.
Populate
Prompts for an existing full vehicle assembly and populates the dialog box with the subsystem combination of the selected assembly.
