Computing Acoustic Pressures

You can use Adams Durability to calculate acoustic pressure values at acoustic nodes. These values can be used to generate x-y plot displays.

To compute acoustic pressures:

1. From the Durability menu, select FSI Recovery.
2. The Plot Fluid-Structure Interaction Recovery Points dialog box appears.
3. In the Analysis text box, enter the name of a run analysis. Default is a previous analysis.
4. In the Flexible Body text box, enter the name of the flexible body.
5. In the Recovery Points text box, enter one or more markers with acoustic node on which to calculate acoustic pressure. The name of markers with acoustic node is defined as the following:
6. FSI_recovery_n
7. where n is the identification number of acoustic node
8. Select the All, then all acoustic markers on the flexible body is selected.
9. Select OK.
10. Adams Durability stores the acoustic pressures in a flexible body result set components for the specified analysis. It adds the following field to the Adams View database for the flexible body being analyzed:
11. FBname_FSI_ACOUSTIC_PRESSURE.Recovery_n
12. where:
13. FBname is the name of the flexible body
14. n is the identification number if the acoustic node
15. You can also print these values to a text file.
