Cylindrical Worm Gear

In current release you can define a worm and worm gear tooth profile by KISSsoft only. To export all required data from KISSsoft you need to use report template provided with Gear AT installation and export both, gear report and profiles of a worm and worm gear. Those files are to be used in the shape definition step of Gear AT preprocessing which stores all geometrical data including profile in a worm gear property file (*.wgp) which is used as input for meshing and for worm gear element definition. Next step is to generate FE meshes, run Nastran SOL 101 and extract stiffness matrix to a worm gear stiffness file (*.wgs), which is then used for gear force definition.
