Design variables represent elements in your model that can change. For example, a design variable can represent a location for a design point, a magnitude for a force, or spring stiffnesses. After you enter a design variable in your model, you can run automated simulations that vary the values of the variable over specified ranges to understand the sensitivity to the variable or to find the optimum values.
