Point measures provide an easy way to determine the kinematic and force characteristics of any marker (see
Markers), not just center-of-mass markers. For example, you can use point measures to resolve a force at a specific location on a flexible body (see
Flexible bodies), or you can determine the acceleration of the end marker of a pendulum with respect to the ground reference frame.
