What You’ll Create

This exercise uses the latch mechanism model from various Adams View tutorials. This latch securely clamps two halves of large shipping containers together and is based on the latches used to clamp the Lunar Excursion Module to the Command and Service Module in the Apollo space program. It must exert at least 800N of clamping force while being hand-actuated with no more than 80N. In this example, from Excel we'll modify the location of key design point and test the influence.

Note:
This tutorial illustrates a platform independent workflow with a manual job submission and retrieval step through a webpage. Users on a supported Windows operating system using Excel may find the workflow illustrated in "Using Adams Explore with Adams View" more convenient.
