There are a few files one should be aware of when working with UDE’s.
UDE Definition Command File
When exporting a model containing UDE definitions to an Adams View command file (.cmd) an additional .cmd file will be exported for each UDE definition. These files will be referred to by the model’s .cmd file. So, take care to keep these files together if moving them from one folder to another.
Adams View Partial Binary File
If an Adams View session has UDE definitions stored within an Adams View library, these would be saved along with the rest of the AView session (models and so on.) when saving the Adams View database file (.bin) via
File → Save Database. If you want to export only one or more of your own Adams View libraries from your session (presumably containing your UDE definitions), for example to share with another user, you can write out a “partial binary” as described in
Storing in a Library. If you do not specify a path, this file is written to the current working directory. It has the .bin extension.
