Note: | You cannot modify a point measure from the Build menu as noted above. Instead, right-click in the Strip chart of the point measure and select Modify Measure. You can also clear the select list and, from the Edit menu, select Modify. |
For the option: | Do the following: |
|---|---|
Measure Name | Enter the name for the measure. |
Characteristic | Select the object or point characteristic to measure. ■Translational Displacement - Position vector of marker relative to the global origin. ■Translational Velocity - Translational velocity vector of marker relative to the global reference frame. ■Translational Acceleration - Acceleration of marker relative to the global reference frame ■Angular Velocity - Angular velocity of marker relative to the global reference frame. ■Angular Acceleration - Angular acceleration of marker relative to the global reference frame. ■Translational Deformation - Translational modal deformation of flexible body marker relative to its undeformed location. ■Angular Deformation - Angular modal deformation of flexible body marker relative to its undeformed orientation. ■Translational Deformation Velocity - Translational modal deformation velocity of flexible body marker relative to the flexible body LPRF. ■Angular Deformation Velocity - Angular modal deformation velocity of flexible body marker relative to the flexible body LPRF. ■Translational Deformation Acceleration - Translational modal acceleration of flexible body marker relative to the flexible body LPRF. ■Angular Deformation Acceleration - Angular modal acceleration of flexible body marker relative to the flexible body LPRF. ■Force on Point - Total force acting on a body via the marker referenced by the measure. ■Sum of Forces on Body at Location - The sum of all forces acting on a body at the specified location. Any objects which impacts a force at this location, regardless if they share the same marker, will be included. ■Torque on Point - Torque acting on the body through objects referencing the specified marker. ■Sum of Torques on Body at Location - The sum of all torques acting on the body at the location of the specified marker. Any objects which impart a torque on the body at this location, regardless if they share the same maker, will be counted. |
Component | Select the component on which to report. You can select x, y, z, or magnitude (Mag). |
Cartesian/Cylindrical/Spherical | |
From/At area | If it is appropriate, select a reference point indicating where the force will be measured or from where the kinematic quantities will be measured. Note: The From/At selection does not apply to point measures because all forces are measured at the selected marker point and all kinematic quantities are measured from the global origin to the selected marker point. Exceptions are point measures of a flex body marker, which are measured from the LPRF of the flex body. |
Orientation | Select to help you keep track of the orientations of your local part coordinate systems as you define them. See Orientation Measure dialog box help. |
Represent coordinates in | Enter the marker on which the vector quantity is projected. The default is the global coordinate system, except for point measures of a flex body marker, where the default is the LPRF of the flexible body. |
Create Strip Chart | Select to display a Strip chart of the measure. |
![]() | Select to set the attributes of the measure. Only available when you are modifying a measure. See Measure Attributes dialog box help. |
