Full-Vehicle Analysis: Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine

(Standard Interface) Simulate Full-Vehicle Analysis Kinematic and Compliance Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine

For the option:
Do the following:
Full-Vehicle Assembly
Select the Full-Vehicle Assembly you want to analyze. The menu lists all compatible full-vehicle assemblies currently open in your session.
Assembly Variant
Select the assembly variant you want to analyze. The menu lists all full-vehicle assembly variants of the chosen assembly.
Switches to the selected variant and adds the required testrig as needed.
Output Prefix
Enter a string that specifies the Analysis Output Name. The string can contain only alphanumeric characters and underscores (_). Adams Car appends the suffix _spmm to form the complete analysis name. For example, if you enter test_45 as the output prefix, the analysis name becomes test_45_spmm.
Solver Settings File
Select one or more files (extension .ssf) defining the solver settings to be temporarily applied for this simulation (optional).
Note: Solver settings files are applied in the order specified, so if multiple .ssf files contain the same solver settings, the last file in the list determines those settings.
Opens the Solver Settings File (extension .ssf) editor dialog box.
Number of Steps / Step Size / Step Frequency
Select either of the following:
Number of Steps: Specify the number of Output Steps.
Step Size : Specify the size of the Output Steps.
Step Frequency : Specify the number for the output frequency.
Simulation Mode
Select interactive, background, graphical, files or event only.
Split Analysis
Select to create separate results and plot configuration files for each sub-events.
If you select Vertical Motion tab and Active toggle button is selected, Adams Car displays the following options:
Jounce Travel
Enter a positive real value that fixes the upper limit of body displacement relative to input position.
Rebound Travel
Enter a negative real value that fixes the lower limit of body displacement relative to the input position.
If you select Roll Motion tab and Active toggle button is selected, Adams Car displays the following options:
Roll Angle Displacement
Enter a positive real value that fixes the body roll angle displacement.
If you select Steer Motion tab and Active toggle button is selected, Adams Car displays the following options:
Steer Wheel Angle Amplitude Left
Enter a positive real value that fixes the upper displacement of steering wheel angle in left direction.
Steer Wheel Angle Amplitude Right
Enter a positive real value that fixes the upper displacement of steering wheel angle in right direction.
If you select Compliance tab and Active toggle button is selected, Adams Car displays the following options:
Force Applied At
Apply force either at Contact Patch or at Wheel Center.

When selected to Contact Patch, each force defined under compliance sub-events is applied between the test rig table and the wheel(s).

When selected to Wheel Center, each force defined under compliance sub-events is applied between test rig table and spindle.
Front Longitudinal Load
Enter values for the front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the longitudinal force.
Rear Longitudinal Load
Enter values for the rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the longitudinal force.
Front Lateral, Parallel Load
Enter values for the front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the cornering (lateral) in-phase force.
Rear Lateral, Parallel Load
Enter values for the rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the cornering (lateral) in-phase force.
Front Lateral, Opposing Load
Enter values for the front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the cornering (lateral) out-of-phase force
Rear Lateral, Opposing Load
Enter values for the rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the cornering (lateral) out-of-phase force.
Front Lateral Force Offset (Pneumatic Trail)
Enter values for front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the maximum length (offset) for lateral force application
Rear Lateral Force Offset (Pneumatic Trail)
Enter values for rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the maximum length (offset) for lateral force application
If you select Aligning Torque tab and Active toggle button is selected, Adams Car displays the following options:
Moment Applied At
Apply moment either at Contact Patch or Wheel Center

When selected to Contact Patch, each moment defined under aligning torque sub-events is applied between the test rig table and the wheel(s).

When selected to Wheel Center, each moment defined under aligning torque sub-events is applied between test rig table and spindle.
Front Parallel Aligning Moment
Enter values for the front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the aligning in-phase torques.
Rear Parallel Aligning Moment
Enter values for the rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the aligning in-phase torque.
Front Converging Aligning Moment
Enter values for the front left and right wheels or front single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the aligning out-of-phase torques.
Rear Converging Aligning Moment
Enter values for the rear left and right wheels or rear single wheel that fixes the upper bound of the aligning out-of-phase torques.
Create Event Log File
Select if you want Adams Car to write information about the assembled model and analysis to an Analysis Log File.
Select to display an Engine/Arb On/Off dialog box where you can set the engine and arb on/off option for each sub-events. See Kinematic and Compliance (Static / Dynamic) Engine / ARB Toggle Selector.
Select to display a dialog box where you can add multi-line comments to any entity, to describe its purpose and function. Adams Car displays different comments dialog boxes, depending on the entity type for which you want to record comments:
If recording comments for modeling entities in Standard Interface, Adams Car displays the Entity Comments dialog box.
If recording comments for any other entity type, Adams Car displays the Modify Comment dialog box.
Learn about Recording Comments.
Select to display an Alignment dialog box where you can set toe, camber and caster alignment values.
Reset
Resets the dialog box to the default values.
