Defining Attachment Points

Attachment points are the only interface between the flexible body and the rest of the modeled mechanism. A set of auxiliary nodes (attachment points) has to be defined to connect one or more flexible elements, and to incorporate the flexible body into the model. Each one of these attachment points can be connected to one or more flexible elements, and there can be one or more connections with the same flexible element.
The attachment points are the only points at which either a constraint between the flexible body and another part can be defined, or force acting on the flexible body. Increasing the number of connections between an attachment point and the related flexible body causes reaction forces to be distributed over a larger surface, augmenting the flexible body's local stiffness.
